This weekend was a special and hectic weekend for the Maxwell family as their daughter Sarah and son Andrew graduated from college and Andrew was commissioned as an officer of Marines. The commissioning and celebration took place at the National Museum of the Marine Corps.
The following photos are a sampling of some of the shots that I took at the event. You can find the rest of the album at the following link: Maxwell Commissioning.
The photos may be downloaded for free from my Flickr account. You may order prints and pick them up from your local Target, there is a charge for prints and that is made directly to Target. I do not make any money from any photographs taken at Museum events. For directions on downloading and /or ordering from Target, click here: Directions for downloading photos.

Oliver North: Museum Distinguished Speaker Series
Oliver North was the speaker for October's Distinguished Speaker Series at the National Museum of the Marine Corps. He spoke about the Marine Corps and the Media, two entities that many times seem to be at odds. I will write more about this on my blog Scuttlebuttfuzz. The actual story entry is Don't be Discouraged with the Media.
Here are just a sampling of the photos that I took at the event. You may view the rest of the photos at the following link: http://www.flickr.com/photos/rangersgirl/sets/72157607699098674/

How To Download Photos From Flickr
I've had a couple folks ask me for directions on downloading photos from my Flickr account. So here it goes. By the way, this is very detailed, I write software documentation on my day job.
Step 1:
Select a photograph that you want to download by clicking on the thumbnail image of the photo, these are the small images to the right.

Step 2:
The image window will open. If you would like to download the image, select the "All Sizes" button. This is highlighted in yellow below and has a magnifying glass next to it.

This is a larger image of the image tool bar.

Step 3:
Select the image size you wish to download. The default is "Large". I shoot in high resolution so the large image will allow you to print at least an 8x10 of the image. If you choose to download the orginal size, this will allow you to print a big 3 foot poster of the image. Please note, the larger the image the longer it will take to download.
Once you select the size you want to download, press the "Download the [whatever size]" link next to the diskette icon. The File Download window will open. Select the "Save" button.

Step 4:
The "Save As" window will open on your computer. Tell your computer where you would like this image saved to. I have selected a folder I have called My Pictures. Give your photo a name, otherwise you will get a long number as the default name. After you have selected where you are saving the image and have named the image, select the "Save" button.
